Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped young boys through
Cub Scouting. It is a year-round family program designed for boys who are
in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age).

Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the
purposes of Cub Scouting. Currently, Cub Scouting is the largest of the
BSA’s three membership divisions. (The others are Boy Scouting and
Venturing.)
The 10 purposes of Cub Scouting are:
    1. Character Development
    2. Spiritual Growth
    3. Good Citizenship
    4. Sportsmanship and Fitness
    5. Family Understanding
    6. Respectful Relationships
    7. Personal Achievement
    8. Friendly Service
    9. Fun and Adventure
    10. Preparation for Boy Scouts

Pack Meeting Location:
March 2008
Wow! What a great couple of months!
Here's an update on what's going on in
our Pack.

In February, we helped collect over 14,000
food items during the Scouting For Food
Drive which was turned over to local food
pantries to assist families in need. Den 3
ran our monthly Pack Meeting and put
together the funniest puppet show I think I
have ever seen. It was really entertaining
and fun to watch.

In the beginning of March, we had 12
scouts compete in the District Pinewood
Derby. Although we didn't have anyone
win in the Speed Category, Journey
Brabant (Webelos I) and Matthew Todd
(Tigers) placed for Best In Show.
Congratulations to both of them.

We are beginning our Spring Recruitment
Drive at the end of April and ask that all
scouts that attend Oak Grove Elementary
wear their uniform to school on
Wednesday, April 30th. We are also
looking for a scout to volunteer to speak to
his peers about scouting during our
presentation at the school that day.

This month we will start our promotions to
the next rank so make sure your scout
has completed all of the necessary
criteria to advance to the next rank.

CALLING ALL FUTURE HOUDINI'S: This
month's Pack Meeting will be about magic
and each den will get to perform a "magic"
trick for the whole Pack! Additionally,
Tarmac the Tremendous, a nearly famous
magician, is scheduled to astound you
with his magical mayhem!

Yours In Scouting,
- Ed Brabant, Cubmast Pack 75
